Share A Little Magic With Big Brothers Big Sisters!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Georgian Triangle has been serving children for 40 years. In 2010 the agency received the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada agency growth award for the sixth consecutive year.“We are the very proud recipients of this National recognition. In a perfect world children would not require our services and we would not be seeing the substantial growth incurred over the past six years. Until then we will continue to find caring volunteers to share their time with deserving children”, said Karen Webb, Executive Director of BBBS of the Georgian Triangle.“New programs such as Co-op In School Mentoring, 180 Kids Group, Recess Program, Kids, Cops and Communities and the Homework Club have all contributed to more children being served.Traditional Big Brother/ Big Sister, Couples for Kids and In School Mentoring programs, will always be our core services and have seen a real revitalization with many new, dynamic volunteers joining our tremendous group of existing BIGS and Mentors. We have a busy fall ahead of us with lots of new matches and several schools across the five municipalities that we have partnered with to offer a variety of our in school programming. Our newest 180 Kids Group and Recess Program have been possible thanks to the support we have received from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Our mission is to provide the highest quality mentoring relationships to the children of the Georgian Triangle and we thank the community for supporting our children.
We wish everyone a Happy Big Brothers Big Sisters Month!
