The leadership training program offers both a growth component and an opportunity to serve. High school students interested in Leadership Training are properly screened to serve as volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters programming. They undergo training in child safety, boundaries, behavior management, leadership in programming, and review various scenarios associated with child care. When through this process students then take part in leading the 180 Kids Group program at their local elementary school - the mentees become the mentors. Students have the opportunity to learn through both observation and hands on interaction with the guidance and reassurance of BBBS staff when required.
